idontevenlikeyourblog-blog asked: I recall that in the early-mid 1995, DAREDEVIL was written by a one "Alan Smithee". Have there been any other instances at Marvel where a book has been similarly "disowned" by a creator and had a fake name attached?

Yes, Steve Englehart has often had issues credited to John Harkness.

But in general, it’s a rare phenomenon.

…And just about every Golden and Silver age artist you can think of probably had a pen name or seven. People remember “the Corruption of the Innocent” because of the comics code it winded up leading to. Another effect of that book was that illustrators lost the prestige of their position, if they ever had it. Artists were embarrassed to be identified as Comic Book artists. Consequently, the use of pseudonyms became quite prevalent. Look for Gene Colan splash pages and title pages where the penciller is listed. Early stuff does not always use Gene Colan’s name.

Also:
-“Frank Quitely” is Vincent Deighan’s pen name.
- Kevin Nowlan often got credited as “L. Mundelo” when he was inking covers in the ’80s.

How about Matt Brooker as D'Israeli, and Henry James as Jamie Delano? (Not 100% sure of the second one! but pretty sure)
